How do I produce a video if I want it to also be on Youtube?

Post by stathmk on Mon Jun 22, 2009 4:23 pm

This is a continuation of this thread: http://wolf3d.darkbb.com/help-desk-f15/what-s-the-best-free-program-to-record-computer-game-playing-t1285.htm I was told to use Hypercam, but for the last 2 days I've been trying Camtasia. I've never uploaded a video to Youtube yet.

Here are the format options for producing a video in Camtasia:
-MP4 (Flash output)
-SWF (Flash output)
-WMV (Windows Media Video)
-MOV (Quicktime movie) There are all sorts of ways to produce an MOV, so if you want me to use an MOV then you are going to have to be more specific.
-AVI (Audio Video Interleave video file)
-M4V (iPod, iPhone, iTunes compatible video)
-MP3 (audio only) I doubt if I'm going to use this one
-RM (RealMedia streaming video)
-CAMV (Camtasia for RealPlayer streaming video)
-GIF (animation file)

So, how do I produce a video if I want it to also be on Youtube? I don't have an iPod or iPhone, so I'm not worried about converting it to those formats.

Make an account.
On the top of the main screan is your username and a down arrow. CLick on it. One of the option says "My videos" Click on it.
Above the left hand bar there is the word new on it, with a down arrow. Click on it and press "video upload"
Bingo! tongue Chears, friend!
Edit:
Yes, hypercam records sound. There is an option of it in there somewhere Wink
BTW, if the visual quality is too high, you'll hae a heck of a time uploading it, even with my fast internet silent

Thanks. OK, but what video editor do you use?

Thanks.

OK, but what video editor do you use? I want to delete some things like pausing the games. I haven't done video editing in a while. Do you know a good free one other than Camtasia? Camtasia only seems to work with videos that you've recorded with Camtasia.

The free Hypercam version only seems to let me record 64 videos. Then I ran into some problems. I think I need to upgrade or get the registered version. I've gotten an email today from download.com that there's a new version of Hypercam.

I think that a program like Final Cut Pro or Adobe After Effects would be good, but they are expensive and Final Cut Pro is only for Macintoshes.

There is a new version of hypercam, so get that.
I should be free but you will get a small caption on upper left hand corner saying "Unregistered Hypercam"
As for free edititng software, I'm afraid I don't know much about that. silent
The ones I use cost a bit No
If you search google or download.com...maybe they have something? alien

Thank you. I'm using Camtasia now. I'll probably use Camstudio when my 30-day free licence for Camtasia runs out.
