Wolfenstein To ROTT Converter Programs

Mark Jaskolski has released 2 Wolfenstein to ROTT converter programs. They basically convert Wolfenstein levels and graphics up to data files which can be used to play those levels on Rise of the Triad. There's a comprehensive text file included in each of the zips.

Technical Question

Post by stathmk on Wed Dec 03, 2008 2:36 pm

I have Rise of The Triad Dark War and Extreme ROTT. I’m new to level making though.

I think that this would be awesome to use on the final level of Spear End of Destiny.

Right now I'm reading the instructions that came with the converter. The directions seem to be written before the Wolfenstein and Spear SDL versions were written: http://wolf3d.darkbb.com/dome-news-f2/wolf3d-sod-shareware-sdl-downloads-updated-t981.htm

All the versions of the Wolf3D shareware set are listed at the top of the page at http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~brlowe/share.htm . The latest is v1.4. The Spear demo is at http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~brlowe/soddemo2.zip. It is listed on http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~brlowe/spear.htm .

Anyways, should I use the v1.4 demos or SDL demos for converting? Which is better? I’ll email the computer programmer that made it in the meantime.

The 4 conversions worked so far.

I was able to convert Wolf v1.4, Spear v1.4, Spear SDL, and Wolf SDL. I wasn't able to convert Spear End of Destiny. The wolf2rott readme file makes it sound more difficult than it really is.
Now I need to reinstall Rise of The Triad and figure out how to use Winrott or RottGL.
