Super Haven Mapset 11/21/09

Post by Dark_wizzie

=================================================================================================
NOTE TO ALL LEVEL CONTRIBUTORS: You can put up to 699 static objects at one time. If you are going over 399, that's fine!
=================================================================================================

We are currently working on a 60-level wolf3d add-on with code changes and very little new graphics. Some levels will have plenty of pushwalls and mazes, so getting 100% everything is quite difficult.
There is a surprise for those who find the hardest to find secrets in each episode.

Awesome! Are you using Chaosedit or WDC?

Post on Mon Mar 26, 2007 8:05 pm by Dark_wizzie

i use flo edit

Post on Mon Mar 26, 2007 8:05 pm by sexyHaven6969

I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that.

Post on Mon Mar 26, 2007 8:06 pm by Dark_wizzie

why...

Post on Mon Mar 26, 2007 11:23 pm by WLHack

I think because FloEdit is nowadays considered as a fossil..
But I use if for all of my add-ons too...
Keep on wolfing!

Post on Mon Mar 26, 2007 11:27 pm by Dark_wizzie

why as a fossial? is there a newr wolf3d editor?

Post on Mon Mar 26, 2007 11:33 pm by WLHack

ChaosEdit and WDC... They outdate Flo by their features.

Post on Tue Mar 27, 2007 12:22 am by Dark_wizzie

oh really is it easier to use and everything?

Post on Tue Mar 27, 2007 2:57 am by WLHack

Well.. A bit. But I don't know how to add new sprite definitions
to Chaos and WDC I only use exporting music...

Oh, but adding multiceiling / floors is lots of easier with ChaosEdit
since you have 3D-Edit mode.

Post on Tue Mar 27, 2007 3:48 pm by Dark_wizzie

i will try it out later.

Post on Tue Mar 27, 2007 4:53 pm by Dark_wizzie

Post on Tue Mar 27, 2007 10:00 pm by Dark_wizzie

Post on Wed Mar 28, 2007 3:44 pm by Dark_wizzie

i am attempting to switch to choas edit.

Post on Fri Mar 30, 2007 5:25 pm by Dark_wizzie

Post on Sun Apr 01, 2007 11:04 pm by Jonathan

I hope you guys can make good game... so we normal people can play

Post on Mon Apr 02, 2007 2:40 pm by Dark_wizzie

=D we try our best, jonathan
EDIT: the 9th level is VERY EASY TO BEAT IF YOU FIND ALL OF THE SECRETS. but if you don't, it will be a bit tough, but you will go through. with secrets, in death incarnate, it is a pice of cake!!! it is a reward for finding all of the secrets (along with 100% ratios and lots of treasure)

Post on Tue Apr 10, 2007 7:29 pm by Dark_wizzie

is wolf3d: killing without compromise better than wolf3d?
edit: if ANYONE would like to summit a guest level, feel free. you can submit up to 3 guest levels, and please, post a good level. =p

Post on Wed Apr 11, 2007 10:47 am by Dark_wizzie

thanks
i played your level already. man, i hate those officers....the stand there until they see you and you sprint up to you and they shoot you=( it hurts my little bj, you know?

Post on Wed Apr 18, 2007 6:12 pm by Dean

I played the level last night.

I found the level interesting but I'm not sure i would be interested in playing a mod with 20 or so levels in it the same.
The secret upon secret section near the start was good but the maze was really annoying, all those multiple doors, it's ok to have a maze but I just thought this was too large.
The large section was pretty good, the guards just keep flooding out.
Outside of that the design and layout is pretty good. The guard and object placements are pretty good also.

Overall it's not a bad set but sometimes mappers can try to be too clever all the time, sometimes simple things can be fun and challenging to play also

Post on Wed Apr 18, 2007 6:48 pm by Dark_wizzie

hehe well the last level was made by drchainsaw edited by me. the maze was there just to make you be sick of it and not look for the prize.
so that was optional, no need to be too angry about it.
have you palyed the other levels?
about the door maze are you talkinga bout level 1 or 3? there was no door maze on level 3, only level 1.
if you insist on getting 100% everything, suffer the obsticles. 100% ratios was never required, and for only the elite palyers. and all mazes are never required to beat the game. all mazes lead to something good.
as for nice and simple, i am working on that. you have brought up a good point. i am already attempting a more simple level.

Post on Sun Apr 22, 2007 3:45 pm by Dean

Sounds good. I'm not angry at all, not sure where you pickled that up from, but sorry if m,y words seem like they were written in anger.

In the version I have there is only levels 1 & 2 and a small portion of level 3 done. I'd be happy to have a look any other levels that have been completed though.

I'll activate my email button if you would like to send them to me that would awesome.

Post on Mon Apr 23, 2007 7:28 pm by Dark_wizzie

ok.
i am doing level 4. however i didn't finish it today. i only managed to start the first room. however, i made a mental structure of the level. i hope it fits in as normal.

Post on Fri Apr 27, 2007 6:12 pm by Dark_wizzie

ok i updated the coding list. does anybody know how to put on celing and floor texures, and add some fog in parts of the level?

Post on Sat Apr 28, 2007 2:12 am by giftmacher

you should ask wlhack he's the best around

Post on Sat Apr 28, 2007 11:45 am by lilmanjs

giftmacher wrote:you should ask wlhack he's the best around

the only problem about that is that he's being asked by so many people to help them with their addons. like for mine he's making all of the walls. Very Happy

Post on Sat Apr 28, 2007 11:50 am by WLHack

I still don't get it where that belief came from...
Heh, I personally have released only one mod (of my own)
and a mapset.

Post on Sat Apr 28, 2007 12:00 pm by giftmacher

that may be true but you helped lots of ppl out and most of them got a dome award thanks to your efforts i suppose

Post on Sat Apr 28, 2007 12:02 pm by lilmanjs

yea I'm thinking at the current rate that the addons that wlhack is helping out on are going that there's going to be a lot of awards handed out.

well.. Im using chaosedit now all the time, I only use floedit now to add the new things to the maps.

Post on Mon Apr 30, 2007 1:17 am by PicNic

COOL OMG SERIOUS I LOVE IT Very Happy I hear the hans and gretel ? or are you just changed the guard sounds to them?

and I thought you can destroy things? Sad why can't I?

Post on Mon Apr 30, 2007 5:00 pm by Dark_wizzie

destroy things? well, you cant destroy things in bones alert (its made to be like the original wofl3d, but differant levels with very few graphics and code changes) but the future wolf3d project (ultimate nightmare) enables destroyable objects.

Post on Sat Sep 29, 2007 12:20 pm by Dark_wizzie

ok guys, i made new adjustments, to the read This, and the levels, fixed a few bugs. new version not uploaded yet.

Post on Sun Sep 30, 2007 12:35 pm by Schabbs

Good to hear, Eric. I look forward to seeing it when it's ready.

Post on Mon Dec 03, 2007 9:43 pm by Dark_wizzie

ok guys, I'm back onto Bones Alert even though I can only use keyboard to play it (something I'm TOTALLY not familliar with). I'm starting on level 3 of episode 2...I made 2-3 edits on episode 1, mostly bug fixes (again) and I made a bugt fix on level 1 episode 2. Well, it's not really a bug, just that... you start from outside, not in the elevator. Also, fixed a guard overflowing bug in the same level.... yes, I edited the level, but the quality still seems high. I only made the level harder to beat. I took out the guard, and all is ok at episode 2 level 1 la-la land. As I have mentioned earlier, level 3 is under construction... I do have to warn you, the beggining is the hardest part. The rest is ok, bit challenging at best, but you'll live through it. For the people who play at Death Incarnate, fight like a death incarnate, or you will die. I made it hard. They way it's supposed to be. The easy modes good for begginers, and the hardest ones, the hardest. just reminding you:
Spoiler:
if you see an invisable door, i porprably did it on purpose. there is another way to get to the object shown.

also, its not always possiable to get 100% all on easy modes, maybe even bring them on mode!

Can't get all ratios? two possiabilities: you didn't find all the secrets, or you messed it up. Sometimes you can mess up a secret and block any future secrets that may show up. In this case, you are screwed, mate.

Okie, ill be back on Bones Alert more, i guess. especially when I get my ball mouse back in the house.
I doubt that it is nessesary to check out the new, incomplete level just yet, but if you feel the urge to do so,download it. Oh, and I made small changes to the read this thingy. Have a nice day, guys, and remember that Bones Alert isn't dead Smile
Edit:you all know where to download the latest version, yes? upload link? good.

Post on Tue Dec 04, 2007 5:25 am by Schabbs

It's good to see this back on track, Eric. Smile

Good luck.

Post on Wed Dec 05, 2007 7:08 pm by Dark_wizzie

Okie, level 3 is almost done, just need like...1 more hour of editing. This level is not so pushwall frenzy, but still a tad bit on the pushwall-ish side. Yes, it can get a bit hard on hardest, but the level is quite barren on the easiest mode. I'll release it soon. (btw, don't be suprised if you see a lot of barrels...its a storage level, after all.)
Edit: expect a guide for the level to go with the new level. cyclops

Post on Sun Dec 09, 2007 6:13 pm by Dark_wizzie

ok, as most of you know, the map got corrupted by chaosedit, and I restarted the map. its incomplete, but I would really appreciate comment on the level so far. I personally enjoyed the level, but i still need input Razz

Post on Wed Dec 19, 2007 9:46 am by Schabbs

Just finished playing the level e2m3 as far as I can.

The level is basically well designed and quite atmospheric. Very hard to play on highest difficulty level, especially once the 2 pacman ghosts come out. The secrets I found were mostly hard to find but done very well. I found 6 secrets, 2 of them near barrels/oil drums. I couldn't find a yellow key to open the locked doors. One of the locked doors had a deaf guard in front of it, as did a normal door. This made the doors invisible and impossible to pass through unless you killed guards in the doors.

Overall, it's coming along well and looks promising but needs finishing off and some tweaking to remove the bugs.

Post on Tue Dec 25, 2007 10:25 am by Dark_wizzie

Yes, those are fixed in a new version I'm about to release. The deaf guards are removed...oh, btw, the thing is, Brian, you can't open the golden door at first. you kill the guard in the doorway to jam the door. afterwards there is a key inside, i belive.

Oh, yesterday I have been editing and editing my old levels. 3-4 Bugs in level 8 have been fixed, plus new changed. Same goes for level 7. The guards should come at you all sides now, so it is harder to escape.
Other minor fixxes other places.
