 | | Can the demon on the last floor be killed?* I know you can complete the game by avoiding him in the room where you first find him, and going through the door at the far end of that room, but can he be killed? The combination of the Demon and Ghosts has always been too difficult for me to complete this will a 100% kill score, and bagging a demon is probably worth mucho points.

 | | When I did the annotated version of Project Eisenritter, I couldn't find any way to complete floor 20, the secret level following floor 12, so I advised readers to take the regular elevator to floor 13 instead, bypassing this floor completely.
I gave it another shot in 'Henry Irons' mode, (ie: using the Knife as primary weapon), and I was able to complete the floor without losing any health points at any point, but it was very difficult. You'll need to have a Rocket Launcher and several rockets available, if you want to succeed. Here's how to do it:

First, is the reprogrammed (registered) Wolf3d exe legally shareable? I see all the mods give it in the ZIP file, but I'm not sure if that's safe and I don't want to risk if I can help it (I'd upload a patch instead). And for that, which is the most widely used Wolf3d non-port version? 1.4 or 1.4g (what is 1.4g and where do I find the update)? What are the differences?

 | | Some of you propably remember when we anounced that we were going to do a remake of Spear of Destiny. The development has reached a point where I can say with confidence that this project is going to be released. We have exactly the same ammount of maps and bosses as the original, but we've added new normal enemy types and weapons to the mix to keep the mod interesting. Textures, weapons and sprites were all specifically crafted for this mod by us. We used the palette from Doom to introduce some cool colors that were not in the original Spear.

Both ToS and Desertfox are doing fine and although I released small spritepackage, I am still working with both mods.
Currently I am converting my old Dos code to SDL to free myself from those annoying memorybugs that were already present in Wintersturm.
But conversion to SDL hasn't been fluent. During first test runs, I managed to compile new exe with ease - but I ran into problems right away...

 | | There is a new version of the Map of the Month Competition that has recently started over at the DHW forum. It's similar to the competitions that have been run over the last couple of years with entrants using the same EXE and asked to complete 1 map each by the end of February, except that this time it is being done in 4SDL! After the Month has finished there will be a period where the maps are all put together in random order and released for everyone to play and then vote on their favorites.

 | | I received this 2 level demo from Valts today and so far I've played the first level. It's got good level design, well decorated and has a mix of new and Spear graphics. They tend to blend well together but the Spear atmosphere is retained very well. Both keys on the first level are in secret areas.  | | Since May I've been working on what's mostly a map set. It's plain Wolf maps, with edited ceiling colours and a slight change in the music order. Nothing new added though. It is bound to be released on December 5 - exact four years after my first mod came out. So far 57 maps are done, and testing of Episode 5 and 6 is coming along nicely.
